The Interface of Form Builder
Overview
The interface of Form Builder consists of the following parts:
- The Form Structure view. It displays the elements of your form in a tree view.
- The Properties view. It displays the properties of the element that you select in the Form Structure or the Design Area.
- The Palette. This view introduces a list of containers and widgets for you to use in your form.
- The Design Area view. It displays your form in its graphical look.
- The Toolbar view. It provides the options to hide the Palette, Form Structure, and Properties view, to select the Window or Fullscreen view of your form, to reload the form, to show or hide empty cells (this option is available for GridPanel), to undo and redo.
Configuring the Form Builder Layout
The Primary Sidebar and all the Form Builder views are displayed as unfolded by default. Click the arrow-shaped Toggle Sidebar button on the Toolbar to hide Form Builder views:
After that, VS Code will display only the Form Builder’s Design Area and Toolbar unfolded:
Click the Toggle Sidebar button to unfold the views:
All the Form Builder views will be displayed again:
Also, you can toggle off the Primary Sidebar from any VS Code’s area by clicking the button of that area on the Activity Bar:
After you click that button, the Primary Sidebar will be hidden:
You can unfold the Sidebar again by clicking the area’s button on the Activity Bar:
