TNS_ADMIN

 

Specifies the directory containing the Oracle Net Services configuration files.

 

Syntax:

 

TNS_ADMIN=<path>

 

Usage:

 

The TNS_ADMIN environment variable specifies the directory containing the Oracle Net Services configuration files.

The directory must contain tnsnames.ora configuration file. The tnsnames.ora file contains net service names mapped to connect descriptors.

TNS_ADMIN applies at runtime (inet.env) and at compilation (env.properties).

Specifies the default path to Oracle Net Services configuration files on UNIX:

 

TNS_ADMIN=$ORACLE_HOME/network/admin
