CVS Repositories created on your file system can be added to the CVS perspective manually via the Add CVS Repository wizard.
There are two ways to start the Add CVS Repository wizard:
→ by pressing Add CVS Repository button of the CVS Repository toolbar:
→ by selecting New → Repository location in the view context menu:
To add a CVS repository to the CVS Repositories view, please follow these steps.
Step 1 |
Start the Add CVS Repository wizard as described above:

Step 2 |
Specify the location of the repository by defining its host and path:
Host gets the name of the remote host, Repository path gets the path to the remote repository or on the file system.
|
Step 3 |
Specify the user name and password used for authentication (depending on the repository settings, only user name can be required):
|
Step 4 |
Set the necessary port and the connection type you want to use:
You can choose among 4 possible options: pserver (default), ext, extssh, and preserverssh2.
You can also manipulate connection preferences:
By checking the Validate connection on finish checkbox, you tell Lycia to connect to the host after the wizard is completed and validate that the entered information is correct. If you uncheck the checkbox, you will not know whether the entered information is correct until you try to access the contents of the repository for the first time. By checking the Save password checkbox, you allow Lycia to save the password and use it for further references to this repository. By pressing Secure Storage, you go to the Secure Storage page of General preferences where you can manage cached and master passwords as well secure storages. By pressing Configure connection preferences, you open the Ext Connection method page of the Team preferences where you can specify the connection type method.
|
Step 5
|
After you have provided all the necessary details, press Finish to add the CVS repository to the CVS repositories view (it is added to the list):

You can not delete the CVS repository location from the server.
Once added, CVS repositories can be removed from the CVS Repositories view by pressing Delete on the key board.
You cannot discard the location until the local project, shared with the server, is disconnected from the server.
