LyciaStudio is a collection of windows. Each window contains a menu bar, a toolbar, and one or more perspectives:

 

 

By default, the LyciaStudio window includes:

 

Menu bar

includes menu groups that provide you access to the most basic actions available - File, Edit, Navigate, Search, Project, Run, Window, and Help

Main Toolbar

incorporates groups of toolbar buttons which allow creating and opening files and programs; debugging, building, cleaning, and running applications, searching and viewing history, etc.

Perspectives:

 

4GL

is a visual container for views and editors used when working with 4gl sources

Views:

 

4GL Project

shows the contents of the project selected in the Project Explorer view

Project Explorer

shows all the projects available and the output and source files for each program in a tree structure

Problems

displays compilation errors

Console

displays messages from the build system

Outline

shows all the form elements and their properties in a tree structure

Code Editor

 (opens when you double-click a program file in the 4GL project view)

allows creating and editing 4gl source code

 

Besides these default perspectives and views, you can open other views and perspectives provided by Lycia as well as install your own plug-ins.

 

All views are dockable, so you can move and rearrange them for creating your own perspectives.
