This group of preferences - Install/Update Preferences - include the preferences concerning the updates installation for LyciaStudio:
Includes two - pages - Install/Update and Available Software Sites:
In the Install/Update page, you can change the following settings of LyciaStudio concerning updates management:
→ specify how the updates are browsed for:
Show only the latest versions of available software - only the latest versions will be shown in the Install new software... (= Available software) wizard,
Show all versions of available software - all the versions will be shown in the Install new software... (= Available software) wizard.
→ configure how the incompatibilities are reported if you try to install, update, or uninstall the software incompatible with you system/software:
Open the wizard anyway to review or change selections - the Install new software... (= Available software) wizard will be opened where you could review and/or change your selections;
Report the problems and do not open the wizard - the incompatibility will be reported in the error log and the Install new software... (= Available software) wizard will not be opened;
Ask me what to do when it happens - LyciaStudio will ask you what to do in every such case.
→ uninstall or update the already installed software:
In the Available Software Sites page, you can manage the web-sites from which new plug-ins will be downloaded and installed/updated:
In the page, you can perform the following actions:
New |
adds a new web-site to the list:

Edit |
allows editing the selected web-site |
Remove |
deletes the selected web-site from the list |
Reload |
tests whether it is possible to connect to the selected web-site |
Enable/Disable |
specifies whether LyciaStudio will look for updates at the selected site and download them when updating |
Import |
imports the new list of software web-sites from a file |
Export |
exports the list of software web-sites to a file |
You can also filter the listed web-sites by name (by typing it directly to the text box):
